I've stayed there at about the same rate from Priceline. It's ok if you like very large business type hotels. It's the largest hotel in Chicago and the largest in the Hyattt chain.
It's your typical "cookie cutter" type hotel. The best thing they have going, in my opinion, is the Big Bar. That is pretty neat.
Frankly, I prefer a more botique type hotel, even though it will be more money.

I would not care if it were "cookie cutter". However my travel is May 19-22 and this offer is for travel thru March 9. Darn!
Anyone know of hotels in Chicago burbs that are convenient to rail (commuter, lightrail, etc), especially Choice hotels (where I get a very good rate)? Unfortunately, most hotels only give their directions from airports; if you're not flying & driving you are s.o.l.

rb - They frequently offer this type of deal, just only a few months at a time. If you want to stay downtown, keep an eye out for new deals to come up closer to your dates, unless the weekend you'll be here is big for conventione (much of May is). Check www.choosechicago.com for a convention calendar.

Yes, the prices are very month reflective. But if you know your exact dates and realize you CAN NOT cancel- I would give Priceline or Hotwire a try. This far ahead, you'll still be able to get a good May price.
The Hyatt is fine, I'm stayed there. I really like the River, because you can get to River North, LOOP, lakefront, or MI Ave. all quite easily.
Jan., Feb. and March have dynamite Chicago rates, IMHO for almost every hotel. I've gotten Intercontinental, Swissotel, Hotel Allegro all for $69 to $79 as well.
The suburban hotels are not as economical as I thought they would be. I just looked for a friend. Plus considering the cost of the train. It wouldn't work for me.
