Hyatt Grand Champions
Has anyone stayed at the Hyatt Grand Champions in Palm Springs lately? I'm going with my two children (ages 2 1/2 and 5). Is it family friendly? I've heard it may be outdated or rundown. Is this right?

If you are referring to the Hyatt Grand Champions in Indian Wells, it is a big resort. It is not rundown, they have been renovating the rooms for over a year. The pool has kid-friendly features, there is also a wonderful spa for the adults.

We've stayed at the Hyatt Grand Champions in Indian Wells a number of times. We were there last Labor Day and did not find it run down at all. We took our 3 yr old grandchild and she loved the pools, waterslide and water fountain. They have seven pools there, and one new adult pool away from the others, so that if anyone did not like families, they could go there.
Perhaps you are thinking of the Hyatt hotel in PS. Now that one is rundown, with one tiny pool.

Agree with MBnancy. I think you are referring to the PS Hyatt. Really needs some help!
It is part of the old Desert Fashion Plaza mall which has been closed down for years and held up in a miasma of redevelopment issues for a long time. The Hyatt GC is a nice property. But if you are going to stay there, you should look at the Renaissance Esmeralda too.
