I heard there were some tornadoes that touched down in Belle Chase - but not much about flooding. Sounds most flooding occurred on the East Bank - Chalmette, 9th Ward definately. And around Vets where N.O. meets Metarie (our friend's house off Fleur de Lys is completely flooded). Not sure about other areas.

Don't know anything else right now. Just tried to call my source, but all ciruits are busy. I'll try again later. Sorry, but it doesn't look too good.

They just said at the press conference that there are some relatively dry areas of Metarie. Not all, but some.

They are planning to evacuate the entire city, however, because the water is still rising.

sinthia: DH has uncle/aunt whose home in Metarie is flooded, we're told. He is blessed, as he has a trailor in Miss. (his 2nd home) and has evacuated tto there!

I pray all is well with your family!

870 WWL I've been told that this radio station has lots of updates about neighborhoods and whether or not they're flooded. If you can't get them on the radio, try their web site: www.wwl.com

Also try www.nola.com. They have parrish links and lots of posts about neighborhoods. Unfortunately, most of the posts are from people trying to get information rather than those who have it.

Good luck. My brother lived in Metairie. He evacuated to Texas.
