How to sell Broadway tickets besides Stubhub
I have some tickets to a Broadway play that I can't use. Does anyone have any suggestions for trying to sell them? I am not trying to make any money. I just would like to not loose it all. Thanks for any help.

Is there a reason you do not want to sell them on Stubhub? I have sold a few things there - the fee stinks but other than that it worked great. Sold them, and was sent a check promptly by Stubhub and Stubhub even paid for the Fedex - well, I guess the buyer did but you print a label from home and take it to a Kinkos or whatever -really easy.

I have them listed on Stubhub now. The last 2 times I listed tickets on Stubhub they did not sell. The play is in less than three weeks. Right now they are listed for less than I paid for them. If I could find somewhere else to sell them now, I would.

I don't really want to say, cause then it'll seem like I'm trying to sell them here. I really am just looking for advice. I believe that it is a fairly successful, limited run play, but not a hot seller like "Wicked".

The problem may not be the play - but that it is selling discount tickets via broadwaybox.com or Playbill. Have a look to see. If it's on discounts there the only amount you're going to get via stubhub is less than the discounted price via other sources.

I sold a pair of tickets at face value on Craigslist -- but it was the show with Julia Roberts and it was sold out. I met the person who bought them and he was thrilled to get them (for Valentines for his finance).
I also recently sold a single ticket to God of Carnage, but it was a discounted price one and other tickets were still for sale. I put that on Craigslist and had two offers to buy it -- it was an excellent seat which I pointed out in the ad.
In both cases, I met the people in New York and exchanged the tickets for cash.

I just lowered the price on the tickets to a few dollars less than the broadwaybox discount. Craigslist is a possibilty, but I won't be in NYC until about 6 hours before the showtime. I'll give stubhub a while before I try applause-tickets. Thanks for all the suggestions.

The tickets did sell on StubHub, although at a deep discount. Thanks nytraveler. I don't know why I didn't think to look at available discounts before pricing them. Thank you to all who responded. Got some tips for the next time I do a poor job planning.
