How to score discounts in Hawaii during economic downturn?
So I keep on hearing on the radio and read in the paper that Hawaii is having massive discounts for tourists, but I look and look and things still look quite expensive. How to score these so-called discounts?
In particular, we're interested in the following for the end of May, early June:
On Kauai:
* Helicopter ride in Kauai
* Ocean kayak on Napali coast
* Kayak on Wailua River
On Maui:
* Snorkeling trip to Molikini
Thanks!

I received a copy of Entertainment that I ordered through an internet offer for $15 (for Hawaii) today, and I can't see that it is going to be much of a savings for us. It looks as if most of the bigger savings are for water activities and luaus. The restaurant offers don't look very interesting without a car.

You can look in the free brochures for ads & coupons.
You can read the entire free brochures online now including the ads & coupons. Pick up the hard copy brochures when you get there.

We were in Maui & on the Big Island in February. We found it was worth simply calling and asking if the tour operator could offer any kind of discount. Most were happy to do so, as they know tourists are shopping around. We typically do lodging through www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner). Private property owners seem to be offering a lot of discounts on lodging.
