Hawaii Entertainment book and car rental

I'll be in Maui and Big Island in August. Are there worthwhile coupons in the Entertainment book of those islands? Also, does anyone know of good car rental codes or coupons for a convertible in Maui. I have one for $265. for 5 days. Is that a good price for the island? What type of car would you suggest for Big Island? This is the first time I'll have ever been to Hawaii so any other information about things I must do or see is appreciated. Thanks!

Most are for Oahu, but there are many coupons for both Maui and Big Island. At $9.99 + $5 shipping it only takes one coupon to get your money back.

There are also many coupons and offers for the mainland.

There is also a fine dining section of the book, where a card (not coupons) that comes with the book has to be used.

When you get to the airport baggage areas, you can also pick up copies of This Week Maui, This Week Big Island, Maui Gold and Big Island Gold, 101 Things Maui and 101 Things Big Island. They have many coupons that are similar to the Entertainment Book. Not near as many coupons as the Entertainment Book, but the savings is substantial.

These sites are good for all islands:

We got a convertible (sebring or similar)with Thrifty for $267.50/wk + $53.50 for an additional day through the above site .

They also don't charge for spouse as addtional driver.

It was recommended to us by here_today_gone2maui.

I can't remember if AARP brought the price down...think maybe it did. Costs $12 to join that and saved 10% on the condo's!

According to biddingfortravel.com there are winning bids for a convertible in July at $26/day. I'd definitely try bidding this first.
