If you don't want to tip eat at fat food places. If you want to stiff wait staff - your choice - but don't get upset when they complain.

Your choice to be a cheapskate. (The world is NOT going to change because of your POV!)

Or better yet - open your own casual restaurant and pay your waitstaff $20 per hour (a modest salary - Mickey D;s kids get $11 per hour or so), see what you have to charge to make money and hear customers complain about your prices.

If servers were paid a decent wage, then tipping would be a choice for great service. The last time I was a server, we got paid less than minimum wage and were automatically assessed 15% of our wages for "tips" whether we received that amount or not. So, yes we lived on our to tips, not on our salary. Next time you have an issue with tipping, take it out on the owners of the establishment, not the servers. And no...I do not tip for bad service.

@ Neo Patrick i have just realised the thread was so old fotfl ..i am well bowing out eh and I did not read all the replies my quick reading skills let me just scan over it and it was not rocket science to get the drift ..hee hee ..
I for one always tip mega bucks ...as if the service is good the staff so deserve it .
Oh and we don't have guns in Scotland for reading forums the police have them for criminals
