Reply to iceeu2,
My apologies for the headache &
amp;, and offer that many more opinions of wines/ and components of wines to avoid can be found by searching the internet. Also speaking of college, some Universities and Culinary establishments offer courses/classes to learn about wine.
Personally, I found the red wines served locally in our trip to Italy to be far superior to "house wines" served in the US. I have heard speculation that they keep all the good stuff
overseas, though I suspect $$$ changes everything.

Iceeu2, I was getting severe headaches, had to see a neurologist, he said it's migraine, and gave me a list of foods to avoid. Red wine (red, not just any wine!) was on the list. Since then I avoid red wine and red grapes, some smoked meats and fishes, and the headache is gone. Of course I'm taking vitamin B2 and magnesium.
A week ago my husband was eating red grapes, and I decided to try. I ate only 2 grapes, and I felt sorry the next day! Headache!
I do drink white wine and occasionally champagne, no problem.
