I'll be bringing my daughter and her friend to do a campus tour of the U of Minn. in April. We'll be visiting both the St. Paul and the Minneapolis campuses. What hotels are nearby and nice? Would we be within walking distance of shopping etc? Thanks.

Try the Radisson Hotel Metrodome. It's convenient to the U and to downtown.

You can also contact Nancy Larson at (612) 625-5740. She should be able to get you the University rate at the hotels near the U (including the Radisson, which I feel is your best bet.)

I would also defintiely recommend the Radisson Metrodome (actually on U of MN campus at not even that near the Netrodome). It is a nice hotel and we have always enjoyed staying there. You can walk all over campus and to local eateries, etc. from the hotel. There are campus buses which run from U of MN - Mpls. campus to St. Paul Campus. You can ask at the U where to catch them.
