No. You are mixing up Hollywood Forever Cemetery located at Santa Monica and Gower in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles with Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery, located on Wilshire at Glendon Avenue, just south of the UCLA campus.
Both are jam packed with celebrities.
My affinity is Westwood . . . which tends to house the more recently departed celebrities. Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Wood, Jack Lemmon, Farrah Fawcett, Peter Falk, Frank Zappa . . . I could go on and on.
H.F. has more of the older stars . . . Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks and the like.
Let us know which of these cemeteries you wish to visit, and we can help with hotel options.

The full name of the cemetery in Westwood is Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park. There are also some actors buried at the nearby Los Angeles National Cemetery because of their military service and several recipients of the Medal of Honor, some from the Civil War.

There are more celebrities buried at Forest Lawn Glendale than anywhere else in L.A.

You didn't mention a budget, but the Kimpton Palomar Hotel is about half a mile from the Pierce Bros. cemetery and less than a mile from the UCLA Medical Center. (The hotel markets itself as being in Beverly Hills, but it isn't.) Also nearby is the Hammer Museum (closed Mondays, free admission). The museum has a nice courtyard café.

Hollywood Forever Cemetery is a fun (yes, fun) place to visit. We took a tour when we went. If available the day you go, I recommend it. Here's my report with photos.

In that case, the Palomar would be the closest -- 2 blocks, very easy walk. Other options close by are the W on Hilgard, the Royal Palace on Tiverton, Hilgard House, and the newly opened hotel and conference center on the UCLA campus, a few blocks away known as the Luskin Conference Center. You do need some affiliation to UCLA to stay there, but it's minimal (alumni, or going to a sporting event, attending an on campus event, etc. Alternatively, there are options further down Westwood in Rancho Park like the Sky motel, where a short trip by bus (the 8 or 12) will get you to the corner of Westwood and Wiltshire, one block from the cemetery's entrance.
