Hotel within Atlanta's airport?
My son will be flying/arriving late at night to Atlanta for a wedding the following evening. Rather than navigate a rental car alone late at night, he'd like to spend the night at a hotel located within Atlanta's airport and rent the car the next morning - is there one that he could walk through the terminal to - or - are they all shuttle rides away?

No, there is no hotel within in Atlanta airport.
His best bet would be to reserve an airport area hotel and use the hotel's shuttle bus. Priceline works GREAT for airport area 4* hotels. The hotel may have a car rental desk on site, which would be a savings (without the airport charges).
When is his trip? The new rental car building will be opening in November at the Atlanta airport.

As the crow flies, maybe...
...but not via a hotel shuttle. There are a half dozen hotels as close. Now, if you want to watch planes take off and land, that may be a plus. But, for some it's a negative.
Check out www.betterbidding.com for what people are bidding for 4* hotels at the airport. You can get one for $50 - and some of them will have rental car desks in the lobbies. I would NOT bid for lower than a 4* hotel on Priceline. If his bid is not accepted on Pricewire, buy a Hotwire room at a 4* hotel.
If he doesn't want to go that route, have him check the rates at the Hampton Inn off Virgina Ave. It's near the Renaissance, but won't be as expensive - and will offer a free breakfast.
