What would anyone here say to a friend who wanted a hotel balcony in NY in Feb? Are all your friends that fragile, that they literally must be talked off the ledge? If they are that says more about you than any OP.

I'm back. It hasn't been a month since I posted. Only 4days. To satisfy why it took 4 whole days, my mother broke her hip and I was dealing with that. She's resting well in the hospital tonight. My husband wants fresh air in the room , cold as it may be and usually the only way to get air into a hotel room is to have a blaconey. Most hotel windows do not open. Some people have their quirks. That said. I have made note of The Giraffe, the Hyatt Union Square and The Kimberly. Every time I have asked a question here I have gotten perfect suggestions. My favorite is The LagoMar Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. If you ever go you won't be disappointed. thanks to those who actually took the time to give a suggestion. Hoping my luck hold out with Fodor's forum.

It's a Kimpton hotel, which is my favorite hotel group. The reviews on TA are very good.

The Eventi is a beautiful hotel, and the location is actually fairly convenient. It's close to Penn Station and Herald Square, but far enough way to avoid some of the congestion. There are some excellent restaurants within a block or two, and it's pretty close to the subway. If you can get a good room there, definitely take it. Join the Kimpton frequent guest program to get free Wi-Fi and a free drink from the bar or minibar.

I don't know the hotel, but other then the veranda suites, which share public access to veranda I'm not seeing the regular rooms having balconies or even windows that open, which I thought was the priority for fresh air circulation. Even if you paid the fee for a veranda suite, you couldn't leave the door open at night for security reasons. I could be wrong and not seeing it on their website, but that was my read of the property and photos.
