I didn't find the rest of this thread, or the other thread that goes with it, so I may not completely understand what you're asking, but if you are considering Mandalay Bay, only go with the newer section, THEhotel--beautiful, comfortable suites--but the rest of Mandalay was not as great when there last summer. The pool area is awesome, but can get very crowded. Have fun!

But vic, it would be much better if you just post this as a reply to that thread.

Neither the Alladin or Paris have exceptional pools. However, they are much better in terms of location. Mandalay Bay is very, very far down on the strip.

Paris and MB rooms aren't that much different. Double rooms I'm talking about. MB rooms maybe a little bit larger? Nice bathrooms in both. MB has shuttered plantation doors between the room and bathroom, which aren't really doors, all the sound goes through. The toilet is on its own though, but with another of those doors. Paris bathrooms don't have a separate toilet. Didn't hear any noise from nearby rooms at MB, but heard plenty of noise from the hall. Pool at Paris is pretty plain. Pool at MB is one of its main attractions so it is crowded, and early... some of my group had to wake up before 9 just so they could find a nice place. Not my idea of fun in Vegas. Walking into MB to check in, on first impression, you might not realize you are even in Vegas. The casino and lounges are off just a short distance. Walking into Paris to check in, you know you are in Vegas.

I would choose Paris just because of its location. My personal preference.
