Hotel near NYC Hi-line

Good friend from Montreal on her way to Slovenia is staying in Manhattan for two days before her trip abroad. She would like to stay at a hotel near the Hi-Line. About $200 a night. Bath must be in-room.

Be a mensch.

Well, 200.00 probably won't (!) work but I had a great stay at the Standard. I LOVED it.
What are the dates?

Oh, and the Standard certainly has the "Bath in-room" covered! Lol!

To find a list of hotels near it, map the highline on maps.google.com and use the search nearby function for hotels. The heart of the Highline is in the meatpacking district where $200/night will buy nothing. But the north end of the Highline is not far from Penn station where there are lots of budget hotels like the Holiday Inn 6th ave. You should also know hotel rates fluctuate pretty wildly by date so $200 in August will buy a lot more than $200 in Sept. after Labor Day.

The Desmond Tutu Center is an under the radar option that might well be a great spot for her. http://www.acc-tutuconferencecenter.com/

Perhaps Priceline is an option. The sites betterbidding and biddingfortravel will show what hotels people have been getting for what bids.

Not so near the highline, but Trump Soho has some great rates right now.

A bit of a walk but the Hampton Inn Chelsea may be an option for her.

You might also think about Chelsea Pines Inn but I think you may need to up your budget a little.

The last place I'd look would be for cheap hotels in that area.

I'm pressing the gray triangle. It looks like Mike has signed on to Fodors just to place an ad. He's done in on more than 10 threads today.

She might be able to get a room at The Jane for ~$200 if there is a deal on their rooms with private bath.

How about the Jane? South end of the Highline and they do have rooms with private baths. www.thejanenyc.com

My friend booked the Park South Hotel on E 28th St. She got the room for $185 a night.

I did a search and found a reco from GoTravel. She is a reliable poster.

Not near the HI-Line, but not too far away either.
