Hi All

I am looking for accomodation in New York for our Honeymoon I have come across 2 hotels and reviews are very mixed. The hotels are Wellington Hotel or the New Yorker. I can see the New Yorker maybe having some renovations so rooms may be nicer when we get there. Also what area is best to stay in New York?

We have stayed at the Wellington many times, and in fact, will be there in December. Yes, I have read the mixed reviews also, but we have always been satisfied. It is certainly not fancy---somewhat "tired" looking. We have stayed in a wide variety of rooms--some much nicer than others. However, they have always been clean. It is a clean, very basic hotel in a great location for a good price. I have no experience with the New Yorker, however.

Not sure why you picked these 2 - I would check out reviews on tripadvisor.com. If you tell us the dates and a budget people may be able to tell you about specific deals.

Ouch! I don't know why OP "picked these 2" but I know that I pick the Wellington for the reason I stated -- "a clean very basic hotel in a great location for a good price."

Budget is about 250USD per night give or take. They are the 2 I came across if someone can let me know some suggestions that would be great!! Another option is maybe the Belvedere Hotel . Thanks for your time
