Hotel in Clearwater

I will be traveling to Clearwater, FL with my hubby and father for 3 days in March. Can someone recommend a nice hotel on the beach? I didn't want to spend a small fortune, but a gulf view facility would be nice. We are going mainly for a couple of spring training baseball games. Thanks

We prefer the Sheraton Sand Key (on the beach next to Clearwater) over the hotels in Clearwater proper. Clearwater proper is somewhat congested and we have not found a hotel we like there as much as the Sheraton Sand Key. Lovely wide clean beach and it is very quiet, unlike the hotels we have stayed at in Clearwater proper.

Agree the Sheraton is very nice though there are not as many walk to dining and activity options that the hotels located in Clearwater beach proper can offer.

Have stayed at the more modest Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort many times with nice oceanfront beach and short walk to several low-key dining and harborside activity options.

Thanks for your suggestions. Although those places look lovely, they are a bit out of my price range. After reading some of the posts on here, perhaps clearwater beach would not be a good place to stay with my 80 year old father. Maybe something south or even north of there. It doesn't seem like it would be too far to travel to Clearwater baseball stadium even as far south as St. Pete. Any other suggestions?

The only other beachfront location in Clearwater I can recommend for less $-) is the Best Western Sea Wake Beach Resort.
