Hotel between Columia and Charlotte

We are driving from Florida to Virginia and plan to stop for the night somewhere between Columbia and Charlotte. Can anyone recommend a good hotel in this area?

Doesn't exist. The drive between Columbia and Charlotte can be done in 1.5 hours or less. Stay in one city or the other.

Ditto with beachdweller, I'd head on to Columbia.

You could stay at the Hampton Inn on Gervais Street and walk to tons of shops and great restaurants.

If you want a treat stop at the New Peach Stand just off I-77 at Fort Mill/Tega Cay exit...great milkshakes.
