Try harder. For example, not referring to others comments as "That's just more bs advice"

sylvia, you are the one who is determined to be right!

Again! They have reservation desks, restaurants, shops, pools, fitness rooms, etc. that make them resorts!

Each of the ones I mentioned have reservation desks!

And I only went through part of the lists!

Let's take Outrigger, just for example:
Waikoloa Fairway Villas
Waikoloa Colony
Kolea
No shops, no reception desk (office is in a separate place), no restaurants. Nearby, off site, perhaps, but NOT resorts.
I don't wish to waste time looking at every complex, but I've stayed in two of these and visited friends in a third, so I know what I'm writing about. (Ditto Mauna Lani)

Gosh your rabid. I stand by my bs comment which was made to protect to OP on another thread. It was much more helpful then the person that told them to cancel their plans. You're stalking and attacking. Seek help.

I am giving specific factual information correcting specific misinformation given here: your interjections into someone elses's dialog are simply insults, and are rude, personal, and self-aggrandizing.

(For the record, a person who gets a suggestion to reschedule a luau because they might be tired from a long plane ride does not need "protection"; they can certainly judge for themselves if they are too tired or not. Referring to advice offered in good faith as "BS" is not helpful, and could certainly be construed as "attacking". Calling someone a stalker, rabid, and an attacker is beyond what should be acceptable behavior here.)

sylvia

I brought up these four resorts as examples:

Kona Village Resort - Free Parking

Aston Kona By the Sea Resort - Free Parking

Aston Shores at Waikoloa Resort - Free Parking

Four Seasons Resort Haulalai - Free Parking

All of them have reservation desks.

I mentioned:

"sylvia, I am talking about condos that are managed by Aqua, Castle, Outrigger, etc., have a reservation desk, amenities like restaurants, shops, fitness centers, etc., that qualify them as resorts.

They are operated like resorts. The units managed by Aqua, Castle, Outrigger, etc.

The individual condo owners sign an agreement with the management companies that their units will be available for X amount of weeks annually.

Not all units have to be managed by a big management company. Some live in their units year round & didn't sign an agreement. Some choose to "rent out" their own unit. Some individual owners choose a smaller management company like Captain Cook.

If it is a property where one can spend almost all of their time on or very close to the property it is a resort."

I mentioned Outrigger simply as as example as they manage several properties in Hawaii that are condos.

If it quacks like a duck, it is a duck!

If a property calls itself a resort, it is a resort!

You seem to want to argue that if the individual units are owned by individuals, it cannot be a resort. You are wrong!

Dusty,
I'm afraid that in this case, you are mistaken. I did mention that a little research was in order on your part. Several of the places you mention are merely condo complexes ( of course parking is included, and a community pool and treadmills in an outbuilding do not make them "resorts") and their "desks" are in nearby offices, not on site (and local off-site restaurants are merely that). Indeed, you mentioned Kona Village Resort several times, and it has been closed for years!
As you said earlier, you are not familiar with the BI, and it shows. This meaningless debate helps no one in planning for a visit, and there is a childish insistence on your part to have a last word, so go for it.
Reading an outdated list and making assumptions repeatedly is bizarre, to say the least. But keep spinning, if it makes you happy.
I'll take jamies's advice (again), and this time keep following it.
