Hawaii - Big Island West Side - Interval International Resort

My husband and I are trying to plan an anniversary trip for the last week of September, and our ideal vacation would be a nice beach to relax on, either all-inclusive or have a kitchenette.

We are being offered a free 7 day resort stay at Interval International Resort, which is on the west side of The Big Island just north of Captain Cook . It seems to be great (don't they all advertise themselves that way), but I am unfamilir with the Big Island, that side of the island, this vacation package, everything.

Any advise? Does that area have nice sandy beaches to relax on?

Thanks!

I know nothing of Interval International, in fact I've never heard of it. if I were choosing a place to be, it would be farther north, above Kailua Kona. My favorite place is different in concept from any other resort and has a very devoted base of returnees. In Kona Village Resort everyone has their own bungalow, all the food is included, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and laid back. I'm totally devoted, and as a hobby and labor of love, have created a website which describes KVR in great detail, complete with video clips. If you're interested, go to www.davidskvr.net and see if it's something you'd like.

Interval International is the timeshare exchange company. I don't think they actually own any resorts. You should find out the name of the actual resort and re-port.

I do not know anything about the company except as sf7307 already mentioned it is a timeshare company.

Here are the Big Island properties they list:

http://www.intervalworld.com/web/cs?a=5

Scroll down to: Search the Resort Directory

Click on: Hawaii

Click on: Hawaii, Big Island

It lists 10 properties, most are in Kailua-Kona.

Hi,

I have a good friend who's Mom owns a timeshare through Interval. She says that the Kona Coast Resort is her favorite place to trade her timeshare for... favorite place anywhere, not just in Hawaii. I understand that Kona Coast Resort II (phase II of the development plan) is where the newest units are.
