Honeymoon? I'd side with the Bellagio crowd. I like Mandalay too but don't expect it to be more than $20/nt cheaper than Bellagio. Pros of Bell: everything is nice, fancy, romantic, great restaurants/bars/lounges, decent room, decent pool area, great location Cons: Expensive
Mandalay is a younger crowd, Pros: also kinda fancy, good clubs, awesome pool area Cons: no good shopping nearby, somewhat removed from center strip, expensive.
It depends alot on what you want to do while your there. I find Mandalay younger and hipper, Bellagio fancier and "sophisticated". If that makes sense...

dancer -- question: do you want to be with the "great unwashed" on your honeymoon, or feel like you've "gotten away from it all?" I disagree with the posters who say "Bellagio" end of story." At the Bellagio, you will be two among a constant throng of people oogling at the gardens, artwork etc., milling about, walking from one theme casino to another, or just plain getting in your face. If you're renting a car to sightsee, you will aslo be stuck on the strip if you're there on a weekend. At a place like Mandalay, it's at the end of the strip, so it's much less crowded, and it's got a GREAT pool, complete with a beach, wave pool and river! the restaurants are great, and in my view the rooms are as nice if not nicer than the Bellagio. to me, there's only one reason to go to teh bellagio -- to play poker in the smoke free poker room. otherwise, it's mandy, baby.

I spent my mini-honeymoon at both Mandalay Bay and the Venetian. Venetian had gorgeous suites, but we actually had bad desk service, and it was a LONG walk to our room from the lobby (through the casino). On the contrary, Mandalay Bay's room was very nice (not as fancy, but super view of the pools), the service was great, and we liked not having to walk through the casino to get to our rooms. The location of it being down the strip was actually a plus in our book - it seemed less crowded, and it also got us out and walking more.

If you are going to Bellagio for a honeymoon, get a suite--whether a salone suite (best bargain) or full suite. They're worth the upgraded price.
Bellagio is classier than Venetian (which has a bit of cheesy/fakey themishness to it) and definitely classier than Mandalay Bay, which tries to appeal to the younger more hip crowd.
If you consider yourself among the younger, hip set, then I'd consider Mandalay Bay strongly.

Just returned from a stay at the Bellagio. Beds are heavenly. Stayed prior at Mandalay Bay... very nice. At Venetian..nice at Mirage... etc.
Bellagio suite. We had one of the Bellagio suites...I think I would request a salon suite with view to lake. If robes not in your room, upon arrival, ask for two with slippers. I always call in for whatever I need...extra hangers.. extra large towels..robes..slippers.. AS I walk in.
Believe it or not I got sick on my 2nd full day. Food poisoning and in bed on my special B'day. At the Bellagio, well... they were so nice to me. Yes it costs more and yes you could find cheaper.. but it is your honeymoon. Pluses... location ... location. I was thrilled with my room. If you don't like something... press the housekeeping key and they will fix it. Oh, by the way, when we arrived, our room was not ready (we arrived at 12) so we asked the concierge if we could go to the pool and the manager gave us a signed authorization... just ask..
