We are staying in Seattle for one night and are looking for a nice hotel. Since we will be coming back from two resorts in Hawaii, I don't want it to be a let down as far as the room quality and service goes. It'd be nice if it was near the airport, but not necessary since we will want to spend time in downtown seattle.

What time of year will you be in Seattle and what is your price range? That will make a difference in the recommendations we can give you.

My first choice would be either the Inn at the Market or the Sorrento, but both are probably out of the price range - if you check around however, you should be able to get Hotel Andra, the Edgewater, or the Hotel Vintage Park, any of which would be good, although I don't know how they'll compare to your resorts. Are you referring to the Westin? Which one?

I'm pretty sure they mean the "W" Hotel (that's its name).

Personally... I love the Sorrento. It's a lovely, old, traditional, very classy hotel. Unique and memorable.

No need to stay at the airport, and there's nothing there that fits "nice hotel" IMO. Just the normal large chains like Raddison, etc.

Thanks for the congrats Suze. I didn't think there would be anything that great near the airport. I'm just worried about how to get to the airport from downtown.

In addition to those already mentioned, you might like the Sorrento--a Kimpton Hotel. The Westin, Grand Hyatt, and Marriott on the Waterfront are other options that will not be deflating.

Please stay in town rather that out by the airport.

Are the Westin, Grand Hyatt, and Marriott all on the water? Which ones are within walking distance to Pike's Market? Thanks for the suggestions!

No, none of those 3 are actually ON the water. The Edgewater Hotel is the only one I am aware of actually on water in downtown.

Even the Marriott which bills itself that way is separated from the water by a wide and heavily trafficed street. It is a bit of a hike to The Market from here (maybe 6 blocks or so uphill and south).

Grand Hyatt is furthest inland. Of these 3 Westin is closest to Pike Place.

We did get you straightened out on tranpo from the airport on another thread, right? (Taxi ~$30, Grey Line Airporter bus >$10, or Metro bus >$2)

I am leaning towards Inn at the Market if I can find a reasonable price. I like the Sorrento, but it's a bit spendy from what I saw.
