Honeymoon or any moon: Hands down, San Francisco is the most romantic city! I live in Southern California and I would not recommend the Disneyland area. Also, consider 3-star hotels near Union Square. Incredibly romantic! Be sure to tell them its your honeymoon! Some provide nice little extras! Have a wonderful time!

I vote for NYC. It is a romantic, beautiful, wonderful city and it IS possible to do it on a budget. Plus spring in the city is a great time to visit: Central Park, the Botanical Gardens, walking around the village...there are endless possibilities. I've lived here for 10+ years and never grow tired of all it has to offer.

Victoria, B.C. Canada is a truly romantic place to honeymoon and with the dollar so low here you will be able to stay in luxury at the Empress hotel or Laurel point in. Ther is Butchart gardens, carraige rides through the park, Harbour ferry tours and since tourism is the #1 industry you will enjoy the British flair of downtown. There is no need to rent a car but if you did there are a number of scenic drives and the restaurants are incredible. Congrats on you wedding and hope the future is incredibly bright.

I'd vote for Victoria B.C Beautiful or Las Vegas. I enjoy Vegas and the first time we went, we thought it was romantic. It depends where you want to stay- I'd vote for Bellagio, Venetian, Paris or Aladdin hotels.
Good luck and let us know what you decide..

Another vote for Canada! I'm recommending the Canadian Rockies (Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper). How more different from a "beach" can you get? End of May may still be a little cool and some of the lakes may not have completely thawed out but my husband and I went this past June 30 to the Rockies for our honeymoon. However, because we wanted a great honeymoon and money (and vacation time) was tight after the wedding, we postponed our honeymoon for a whole year (celebrated our honeymoon and 1st Anniversary in the Rockies). Don't know if you want to consider waiting a bit (however, for the Canadian Rockies, I would recommend going the end of June/early July). We went for 2 weeks, stayed in great hotels (which we could never afford if they were in US dollars), had an amazing time (the mountains, lakes were just too incredible to describe!) and the total cost for everything (airfares, car rental, expensive resort hotel, gas, tickets, had a couple very expensive dinners) was approx. $4500 US but if you plan to stay just a week, you can probably do it within your budget (stay away from very expensive restaurants!). Also airfare from Washington, DC to Calgary, Alberta was only $363/person. I would suggest you read the Canada posts on Alberta (planned our trip by just reading these posts). If you would like more details, please e-mail me directly. Oh, and Good Luck on your upcoming wedding!!
