Another vote for the Sedona Hilton.
Our suite also had a gas fireplace, two TVs and a balcony looking out to the red rocks. It's only about a 5 min. drive into town, so we didn't find that to be a big deal. What kind of rate did you get?
Be sure to take a pink jeep tour. We liked the broken arrow. The concierge was very good at making arrangements for us. We also visited Jerome and of course, the Grand Canyon. Let me know if need any restaurant recommendations, although you can probably do a search. You'll have a great time.

Becky is wrong about the room description.
A minority of rooms are 2 room suites.
Standard rooms are plain old every day Hilton rooms. (This place was originally built as a Doubletree, but it's far enough away from the town and sites that it lacks location appeal versus some of the other 'resorts'). Suites are available for an extra charge.

Vince, are you sure? I was under the impression that it was the other way aroun--that the majority of the accomodations were suites, but that there were also some standard rooms.
We found their rates to be quite good for the suites (and they're significantly larger than the Embassy Suites set-up) which is why I was wondering what kblumenfeld's rate was.
The Hilton (yes it was formerly the Doubletree) is in the village of Oak Creek, which I think is about 5 miles out of "downtown" Sedona.

Be aware that Sedona is becoming a bigger tourist attraction with each passing year, and the little road which leads from I-17 to Sedona (hwy 179) moves painfully slowly from Friday thru Sunday. That 5 miles from the Hilton to downtown can take 45 minutes.
