Hilton NY or Grand Hyatt?

Which hotel do you recommend? I'm going to New York for a theatre trip, so which hotel is closer to the theatre district?

Both are in good locations. The Hilton is slightly closer and is a nicer hotel.

I agree, go with the Hilton. The Grand Hyatt got its name by being next to Grand Central Station, not because the hotel is grand!

Sorry, Jen, but for the sake of accuracy, I must correct you. The Grand Hyatt in New York is so named, because that's the title that the Hyatt Corporation gives to some of its hotels. The fact that it's next store to Grand Central is a coincidence!
However, I will agree that the original poster should go with the Hilton.

Disagree,
I like the Hyatt, especially on the club level. Service is superb, and Thursday night is sushi night.

Stay at the Hyatt if you can get a deal . We got in for $150 on the weekend , a couple of months back. Anything higher and you may be a bit put off by the tired rooms ...but at $150 they looked okay to me.

Walk to the theatre district was no problem for us . Regular bus service to the theatre district is available outside the hotel . Forget the taxi.
