Emeril's in the Warehouse District is fabulous. They don't have a chef's table, but there are a select number of seats (maybe 6-8?) that are bar height/style and overlook the chef prep station and the kitchen. I believe the area is called the food bar, and you can see pictures of it here:

But you will *definitely* need reservations to sit there.

If you are interested in food, you also may be interested in taking the New Orleans Culinary Tour. We took it about 14 months ago and enjoyed it immensely.

I ate at Stella last summer and it was incredible! I highly recommend it, and will likely return on my next visit, even with all the other amazing choices.

had a wonderful meal at "herbsainte" when i was there for business. the next day, the chef won the james beard award. i imagine a reservation would be helpful.

just back from NOLA and I had my 2nd really subpar experience at August so I won't be heading there again however friends had a great evening at Luke so that might go on your list.

Emerils was great but Herbsaint was awesome! my favorite resto experience. Cochon is also excellent but it is very casual.

We always made ressies and were glad we did. Many of these places are on open table.

My husband wore nice slacks, shirt and a casual jacket most nights out- but the jacket was his choice. I wore a nice dress and heels.

Have a great time!! We also love to have breakfast at Brennan's which is a huge show and very fun.

Had a bad experience at Cochon in May. We loved Jacques-Imo's. Casual and out of the way but great.
