Heritage House: Mendocino Little River

I have a friend celebrating her anniversary and she has a reservation to stay here in the Same Time Next Year Cottage. Does anyone have any imput on this hotel? She wants it to be special and hasn't found much on it besides their web site. Thanks for any info you can add.

We stayed at the Heritage Inn for our honeymoon 15 years ago and liked it. Have your friend check out tripadvisor reviews. If memory serves me correctly, it has gone down hill and she may want to look at other options.

Have not been there for the last 10 or so years and can't comment on present quality. But there is no "Same Time Next Year" room, as I remember. When we were there, there were two rooms - one "Same Time", and the other "Next Year" - in the same little building.

My boss and his wife stayed at the Heritage House last year. There were maintenance issues that were inexcusable for accommodations in that rate range. Your friend should look for something else.

Might I suggest the Whitegate Inn In Mendocino? Stayed there last wpring, and it was lovely. Close to the headlands and the village, restaurants etal. A delightful stay.
