But home exchanges may not be exempt from the by laws or leases of co-ops or condos. And not sure about standard rental leases. I know that home exchanges are not allowed in our co-op (and many others) - since any sublet (and we allow only for 6 months or more) requires a complete personal, financial and criminal background check of the people being rented to - at a significant fee paid to the managing agent.
