Help! Need a prom dress in Dallas -- quick!

Shoppping for a prom dress in Dallas this week. We've hit all of the usual stops - Galleria, NorthPark, Neimans, Saks, Nordstrom -- and NO LUCK!

DD is in tears -- does anyone have any other suggestions? I can find my way around the city pretty well, so no directions necessary.

thanks!!!

WHATCHAMACALLIT

Seriously! That is the name of the store! It is at Preston and Belt Line, on the SW corner. THE place to go in Dallas for formal wear!!

Is it Terry Costa?

What style are you looking for?

Or...Have you looked at Willow Bend Mall?
J Crew has some nice dresses, but are simple, yet elegant.

Maybe try Stonebriar Mall in Frisco or even David's Bridal.

thanks for the sugesstions. Christie -- I heard Whatchamacallit had closed -- ?? Sounds like a good place.

We've tried Terry Costa -- I was a little surprised. Seems like their on the rack dresses are old/worn out; the saleslady says one tries them on for the size and then they will order a "new" version (similar to bridal dresses). We don't have the time to go that route.

We're heading to Stonebriar tomorrow. Wish us luck -- is there any other placw we should try?

thanks so much!

Do you have Dillard's in Dallas? They have tons of dresses, and my daughter found a very nice one there last year.

Watchamacallit moved fairly recently. I used to shop them when I was in High School and they were at the Preston & Campbell location. Their new spot (which I found quite accidentally last weekend) is MUCH bigger, so hopefully the dress racks won't be so crowded as they were in the old location.

One of my favorite places to eat in Dallas when visiting is Ali Baba, in the 19000 block of Preston Rd, about 2 blocks south of GeoBushFrwy on the west side of Preston. In the same strip shopping center, actually the most southern shop, is a discount formal dress shop. The workers in the restaurant seem to think the shop is the "best" in town for deals. But, alas, I have no personal knowledge!!

I'm sorry but i'm blanking on the actual name of the store, but there's a dress shop right next to the Houston's restaurant at Preston Road adn NW Highway. It may be a little too high end though for a prom dress, but upstairs does have fancy dresses. Tootsies i think is the name.
