Dress for dinner in Costa Rica?

Ok, I'm almost out of questions! I get the impression that CR is ultra casual. So we're bringing shorts, capris, etc for daytime. What about dinners at night? Are shorts acceptable? Or a nice sundress, etc? Most of our trip will be in Manuel Antonio.
Thanks for putting up with my questions!

Relatively clean and non-smelly are my top priorities. For the most part, anything else goes Shorts are fine, a sundress is fine, definitely keep it casual. Have fun!

I agree. We spent a week in MA last August and dinner dress was definitely casual. Didn't see any cut-offs, grubby attire though - nice, clean shorts, sandals worked fine. Also for guys, I had a couple of pants that had the parachute-type material (could zip off at knee for shorts) and those also worked well; seemed a little dressier than shorts.

Things don't get too dressed up in the evenings; I just wore capris each night; I did bathe though!
