Hawaii - The Dole Plantation.

I will be in Hononlulu next week. I ahve been to Hononlulu before and I am looking for things to do outside the city. I am interested in visiting the Dole Plantation. Is the plantation worth visiting? How much time should I plan on spending there? I am thinking of taking a day tour around the island that includes a visit to th e plantation, but I get the impression that the visit to the plantation will be very rushed. I will have jet lag (from flying across the pacific), so I do not plan on renting a car.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thnaks.

There are several circle island tours that include Dole Plantation.

www.enoa.com

www.robertshawaii.com

Some of the tours only include a short 15 minute stop at Dole Pineapple. Some are longer.

Thamks Dusty,

I was considering the Majestic Grand Circle Island tour by enoa tours. I think you get about an hour at the Plantation. Is that enough?

Yes, an hour is enough time to take the 20 minute train ride, get a Pineapple Dole Whip ice cream, and go through the gift shop.

We went this past summer and really enjoyed it. Be sure and visit the gardens - that was our favorite part! We really enjoyed the beautiful flowers and seeing the different types of fruit growing on the trees. We had starfruit for breakfast one day (had never even heard of it before) and actually got to see it growing there.
