Hawaii extended stay (month) facilities

My husband is retiring the end of December. One of our options is to stay a month or two in Hawaii. Do you know of any condo/studio with kitchen that has rent under 1500.00 per month? We do not care which island.

For rentals, try www.bradleyproperties.com or www.hicentral.com.

p.s. I have a friend who has a nice studio in Waikiki (high floor, fab view) that she is going to start renting out this fall. top this thread later and I'll give you the details if it becomes available.

My favorite Waikiki hotel offers special monthly rates - each room has a kitchenette. It's a lovely, older property, low-rise (2 & 3 stories only) and is located in the heart of Waikiki one block from the beach, 1/2 block from Kalakaua, The Bus runs right outside the back gate - at least it does when they're not on strike. Contact the manager, Lisa, of the Hawaiiana Hotel at 800-367-5122 for the monthly rates. It's a gorgeous setting, more like an apartment complex than a hotel. How lucky to be able to stay a month or two in paradise!

Thank you Melissa and Bashful. I did call Lisa and she gave me a good rate but not until March which is understandable as winter is their busy time. I think we have decided to go to Europe at that time. It's a hard decision.

I maybe too late with an option but I would try Homestead Hotels (http://www.homesteadhotels.com/). I think you may get 10% off booking online, not sure but worth checking out if you haven't.

Did you try vacation rentals by owner, vrbo.com, to check on monthly rentals? They have lost of properties listed but I don't know about your price range.
