Has anyone stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Virginia Beach????

I would appreciate any info on the Courtyard by Marriott Oceanfront/North in Virginia Beach. Has anyone ever stayed here??? How about the Doubletree on Pavilion Drive??? If so, which is better and nicer????

I have not stayed AT but have stayed near Courtyard. Looks like a good hotel, and new. Doubletree is nowhere near the beach, and if I am going to be at Virginia BEACH, I want to be ON the beach. All Courtyard rooms face the shoreline, with private balconies.

The Courtyard Marriott is very nice - a solid 3 star by AAA standards. The rooms are big and all face the ocean. The breakfast was good too. The previous poster is right that the Doubletree is fairly far from the ocean. Go for the Marriott! (Check their website and call the hotel directly for deals - I remember I got better rate about a week before going. Plus off-season should be very reasonable. Have fun!
