Grocery Stores Near Keystone Resorts?
During christmas time we are planning a ski trip to Keystone, I was wondering if there are any grocery stores nearby and if the shuttle bus takes you there. Last year we went to Snowmass and it was highway robbery just to buy some groceries. There was only small stores with big prices!!! macaroni and cheese $5 bucks.
We are bringing 4 teenagers and you know how they eat....Just trying to be practical.
Thanks for any help!!

The nearest grocery store is the City Market in Dillon. You can take the Summit Stage Shuttle if you do not have a car. The Shuttle stop is located at the mountain house base. You will find the prices in line with Denver stores, though the meat & seafood selection is pretty limited.
If your drving up from Denver there is a King Soopers grocery store on the west end of Denver, the Youngfield exit that makes for an easy stop. Also a great wine/liqour store, Applejacks. There is a good liqour store in Dillon too by the City Market that surprisingly has fair prices.
We too will be at Keystone for the holiday, 4th year in a row! Hopefully the snow will keep coming.

Coskier, I looked King soopers up on the internet and they have one 38 miles from Keystone, exit 247 Beaver Brook Exit...Is that the same one?
Also do you know if there is a safeway still in Frisco... I pulled that up and it says that its 3 miles from Keystone. 1008 N. Summit Blvd.
Frisco, Co That would be great!
Definatly need the liquor stores for putting up with 4 teenagers...LOL
Well I guess you must like Keystone...That makes me feel better...we have never been.
Thanks for your help!!!

Hi Supriser,
I'm not sure how they figure Safeway is 3 miles from Keystone. It's more like 12 or 15, but if you have a car no problem to go there. I usually shop at City Market. The Stage bus for shopping is a MAJOR pain. But they do deliver. Be sure to get the club card to get the best value. Shop at the liquor store in Dillon (nest to City Market) NOT the one in Keystone, which is a lot pricier.
Have fun!

I do like Keystone! Again if your renting a car it maybe easier on yout to stop at the Youngfield exit in West Denver. The City Market can get rather hectic at the holidays. Go left under the freeway and left again to the shopping area. If you have not prepaid for lift tickets they sell discounted ones there. Applejacks does not take credit cards but will accept out of state checks. Most excellent wine store.
Had no idea that City Market delivers.

Coskier, Hey, are you renting a car??? We where going to do the shuttle from the airport because we have six of us/with luggage??But its running around $600 for the shuttle?? Maybe I should check into a van or something? Is the drive easy? That way we could go to the store anytime...We will be out there Christmas day until the 2nd. 8 days.
With two 18 year old boys and 13 year old girls ....they can eat....My experience with snowmass was expensive.
I went ahead and used the peek card for discounts on the lifts. I don't know.

I am in Colorado already so have my own car. Car rentals are very pricey at DIA. Be sure to ask the TOTAL price per day. There is a heafty sur- charge at the airport. The drive is usally fine, it is all highway. At this late date though you may have trouble finding a car at the airport. Overall I think you would be happier with a car. It is an easy drive to Breck to shop/dine, you will have many more options for dinner. It may well end up costing you less overall. 8 days is a long time to stay just in Keystone.
