Good luck to your husband! My brother is a die hard marathoner and has finished in the top 20% of the NYM for more than 10 years in a row, although his knees are starting to raise their objections more forcefully each year. The Paris Marathon is the one that I would recommend if the NY marathon turns out to be a no-go.

Ditto on the Twin Cities marathon. And I'm surpised noone has mentioned Grandma's marathon - run along the shores of Lake Superior from Two Harbors to Duluth, MN. Can you say SCENIC?

Twin Cities is beautiful but they limit the number of runners. May already be full for 2004.....

The Steamboat Springs marathon in Colorado was just this past weekend, but you could plan for next year. It's usually the first weekend in June. My husband did the half marathon last year. Steamboat is a beautiful town. Highly recommended any time of year.

MODEST!!! Melissa!!!
You should have seen that good lookin' wicked wahine in New Orleans!!! Modest! heh heh heh.

Hey! Are you and Mrs Kal still planning on the 2 Ocean Marathon in So Africa?
:-?

Mrs Kal speaks highly of the Mayor's Midnight Run in Anchorage Alaska. She ran it twice and saw a lot of wildlife..."Moose and Squirrel", too.

Too many, slow, long uphill grades in the Sand Diego RnR Marathon...I got tired driving up them waiting for her.
:-"

Kal! Every time Mischka emails me, she asks if I have pursuaded you & Mrs. Kal to come over and visit. Looks like Mrs. Kal & I will have to do the 1/2 marathon in South Africa....it's either 12 miles or 56, nothing in between!

Now, now, Kal....what happens in NOLA, stays in NOLA! We don't want everyone wanting in on our threesome. Oops! I've said too much!.....

My hubby (who is the runner) would
EXPIRE at the START of the marathon if we were anymore close to MICKEYLAND!!!
NY and Paris sound like the places to be! Thanks for all the great input!
