Anyone interested in getting a Chicago Fodors GTG thing going for possibly October?

Okay, time is passing by and the holidays are going to be here soon. Before we lose our tans, gain those holiday pounds and have a extensive social life-does anyone want to try and have a Chicago GTG in the near future? Downtown or out near ORD? Late September or early October? Late afternoon or a dinner hour. Inquiring minds want to know?

We're planning on being in Chicago for a surprise dinner party from the 19th to the 21st.

Any chance of fitting in a GTG then?

I'm game. But definitely downtown. Third week in October is the only bad time.

Well, now. That would be a good excuse to come to Chicago, wouldn't it?

I live in the Windy City and would definitely be interested in a GTG (that was a new term for me, too). A downtown lunch or dinner would be perfect.

You plan it downtown and I will come.

The first big GTG in Chicago I picked the date and the place and I was the only one who wasn't there. LOL! (My furnace in MI took a powder in December.)

The second GTG was terrific and memorable- great people. Faina came.

Someone else pick a place downtown, River North area and I'll take the train.

Don't forget Oct. 5 is the Marathon- and that the logistics will be harder that weekend.

If you build it, we will come.

It seems like everyone has different dates to be Chicago. Darn! I will be downtown the 29th and 30th and would love to come if those dates are chosen.

I'd love to make it if I'm able-for what it's worth downtown is better that ORD area. We'll be off to France and Italy the last week of Oct/first of Nov.

What a great time to get to both, swalter! Have a great time. Is it 2 going or 3?

I sure would like to meet cd and all of you too who haven't ever been to one.

For me anytime in October is fine. September already is mostly booked.

JJ, it's the 3 of us-should be quite the adventure. Luckily we're staying at my dh's sister's house in Sicily so the little one will have room to run and scream to her hearts content without causing an international incident...now Paris might be another story.

Hopefully we'll get some out of town Fodors to this one.

Oh, my dream, toddling along in Sicily!

I truly am jealous, and that doesn't happen too often. I hope you have a fabulous and never forgotten time.

Yes, I hope this occurs and would love to see you again at a GTG.

Does the Columbus Day weekend seem to work better-October 13th or 14th?

Either one or other would work for me. In fact all of Oct. except the very last- is good.

You will get more people if you do daytime hours rather than nightime hours.

Then should we plan like a lunch on a Sunday or a Saturday for October?
