Gray Line tours - WHICH ONE?
I've looked all through the Gray Line bus tours website. How do you find out which 'SITES' each tour actually passes by / stops at?
I want the 48-hour hop on/hop off type. Not interested in showbiz tours. Several tours seem quite similar such as "the essential new york" and "the classic new york"
Anybody done a tour? Reaction / preference?

I also found the Gray Line web site to be very vague. But when I requested a brochure about the 48-hour hop-on-hop-off tour, they sent one very promptly, and it included a great map with the bus route and location of the stops as well as schedules and other useful tidbits.

There is a map on their site that shows the route of the various loops. Here's the link

IMO, the downtown loop is sufficient to see the major sites since it starts midtown.
I think the classic vs essential just includes entry into different things. You could do just the hop on /off without anything else. People here report different experiences depending on the guide you get. Some complaints about guides who have thick accents not being easy to understand. Other complaints about waiting times for buses. It is a good way to see a lot without having to figure it out yourself though. Someone recently posted about the NY Party Shuttle Tour which is essentially the same but with smaller buses, and the bus stays with you while you hop off. It's a full day tour.

Hi Syv,
I have not personally taken the Grayline tour but I imagine it will cover most of what you want to see. Plus you can get on and off which is appealing.
I work for a company that sells bus tickets and tours online. We represent many different companies including Grayline. You might want to take a look to see if there is a tour that appeals to you more. We also have several Chinatown bus companies that have incredible prices on city tours. The tour leader will most likely have an accent and these tours will be conducted in Mandarin and English. You can't beat the price, however.

Seems like travel jones joined up today just to promote bus tours both in NYC and San Francisco. Look at the Subcriber agreement under subscriber
conduct. This is the end of a very long sentence.
