Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Arches, etc - advice on when to visit
We are planning to visit the Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Arches etc in September/October. Our dilemma is whether to be there early September, or later - say mid to last week in September? Has anyone got any advice they can offer please?

after labor day, later in sept. to keep the day heat down. but in oct, in north rim of GC, october things start to shut down and you risk snow (it's at 8K ft). Even in Oct. we were hiking in 80+ degrees in Captol Reef NP (GO!) Fruita is beautiful.

Mid to late September should be fine. It'll still be warm in most places and pleasantly cool in others. We took a similar trip in March (odd choice--spring break), and enjoyed the cooler weather. The only problem was that we couldn't hike at all at Bryce--still snowy. It was great to hike to the Delicate Arch in cool weather. ANY time in September should be warmer than March.
