Getting to/from Sausalito

I just looked on the Golden Gate website for the ferry schedule to/from San Franciso to Sausalito. The last ferry departs Sausalito at 6:10pm. We would like to go there for dinner but since we won't have a car, is there another way to get there? Thanks for your help.

The blue and gold fleet posts a later ferry schedule: http://www.blueandgoldfleet.com/tssc.htm

On Sat, Sun & Holidays they indicate that the last ferry leaves Suasalito at 9:00 pm. ON Fridays it's 8:50 pm and all others it's 8:00 pm.

Although less exciting, you can take the bus. www.transitinfo.org/GGT. There are stops all along Bridgeway in Sausalito. Maybe ferry over and bus home?

On the same website there is a bus schedule. All buses end up at the Mission @ 1st Street bus terminal. I believe GG buses 10 and 50 go through Sausalito. I know bus 10 runs late every day. These 2 buses run a different route in the city, bus 10 along Van Ness, but 50 through Richmond area of SF.

Why do you want to have dinner at Sausalito? Is there a particular restaurant that appeals to you?

We didn't find Sausalito all that it was made out to be. We took the Golden Gate Ferry to/from San Francisco, and that was the highlight of the trip to Sausalito.

There are a lot of exciting and great restaurants in SF. Plouf's was great, and if you like garlic, the Stinking Rose was fantastic.

Whatever you decide, SF is a wonderful city.
