Getting from Ft. Myers to Sarasota by bus

I arrive into Fort Myers and will split my time between Sarasota so need to know if there is transportation I can use to avoid taxi. I might be traveling solo since driver may have to take flight a day later. I can use SCAT getting from airport to hotel in Ft. Myers. Are there any bus lines that travel up to Sarasota, or a shuttle that goes between airports? I think its less that 60 miles so hope someone can give me ideas on the public transportation.
Many thanks.

Google is your friend. Try "bus from Ft Myers to Sarasota". There are lots of options, and your specific needs are not clear enough to offer advice here.

I looked on Greyhound website also the Lee County SCAT without success. I did find the bus route from Ft. Myers airport to hotel ara though, which is helpful. I will be leaving from Summerlin Road near to Sanibel Gateway so would take a taxi to nearest bus pick up point. I also tried Amtrak but there is no service to Sarasota. I only got referrals to use private Limo and that would be very costly.

I will now go to Google and see if there is anything else. Thank you for responding.

Have you considered renting a car? Depending on when you travel
you may find one for about $25 per day.

Still haven't been able to get transportation for this route. I cannot drive even though I have 2 licenses, NYS and UK because I've been out of practice for too long. If spouse cannot join me I may have to forget about Sarasota and book another flight for my return.

I thought that since Sarasota is fairly close to Tampa there would be bus service close enough to Sarasota even if it meant connecting with a Sarasota bus at drop off point. Thanks to all for the suggestions.

Where do you want to leave from in Ft Myers on what day of the week?

Where do you want to arrivd in Sarasota? At what time?

It is not at all clear from your post what you are trying to accomplish. Someone will be with you in Ft Myers who will not be going to Sarasota or will be going to Sarasota early? Sorry to be thick, but I don't understand.

I need to get hotel on Summerlin Road, near Summerlin Square & San Carlos in Ft. Myers. I can get SCAT from airport in Ft. Myers to the Square so that is easy.

We booked flighs arriving into Ft. Myers with departure from Sarasota as we normally do several times a year. Hotel in Sarasota is just off I/75 very close to Gantt Road & Clark. I understand that it will not be possible to get transport point to point, but if I get to Sarasota (day time hours) I can look for taxi or take a local bus as there are buses on Clark Rd. If spouse can change plans to travel same day with me there is no problem as we will pick up car, but in event that I have to travel solo earlier, I need to be organized in advance. I hope the above is crystal clear and that someone will help me with public transportation. Thanks

Actually, if you look at the link I posted, you will see you can get the van to pick you up at your hotel in Ft Meyers and bring you to your hotel in Sarasota for $90. This may be less expensive than hiring a taxi to bring you from your hotel to the departure point and from the arrival point to your hotel. Prices may vary by day of the week -- I don't know. To me it sounds kind of expensive, but it may be your best option.

Many thanks Fra_Diavolo for details on Florida shuttle. If I need it, I can try for this lower fare. I consider the $90 fare high for the distance and tip would be added on top of that amount. I am pleased to have this information and should know before end of week if I have to reserve a place on it.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who took time to help me out.
