cfntmpn - That's a perfectly fine alternative when free re-bidding won't work. You and your husband are separate entities, and are both entitled to bid on priceline as separate people. With big cities with lots of free re-bidding, it's usually not necessary. But in small towns it's a great option to have.

Well...cookies are used by Priceline to try to prevent you from re-bidding, but they are just one measure used. They also check your email address and credit card number. Yes, I have tried this (not real recently, I admit). With a different email address and credit card number, they'll still deny you an instant re-bid if the cookie is found.

An easy way to avoid deleting your cookies is to use a different web browser. On my computer, I have Firefox, Netscape, and Internet Explorer, and they all store cookies in a different place on your computer.

But there is no other way (cookie, email, and CC number) for them to track you. Those of you who know what an IP address is: realize there are many people who do not have unique IP addresses, so it's not worth the effort to try to do so.

JLM--My DH did clean out the cookies but he may have used another cc or email address--am not sure about that....

Anyway, the rebid idea seems like a good way to go

Yeah, if you have free rebids use them. In fact, if you are an advanced bidder, BFT users have found ways to extend your number of free rebids even more. Suppose you have two free rebids in a zone. You can actually get four bids out of this, not just three:

orig zone
orig zone + frbzone1
orig zone + frbzone2
orig zone + frbzone1 + frbzone2

because Priceline considers each one unique. If you have three free rebid zones, you get eight! Look for the post on BFT about this for more clarification.
