Priceline info

I have never gotten on Priceline's website. Can anyone tell me if you can get the exact hotel of your choice? I assume you just bid and they either accept or decline. I also assume that number does not include breakfast and VAT tax, right?
Thanks,
Jeanneboca

No, you can't get the exact hotel of your choice. Often you will have a very good idea of what hotel you will get, but there's always the possibility of being surprised.

The VAT cost is added to the price of your bid, and you get to see the total amount you will pay before you click the button to buy the room.

Sometimes breakfast is included for Priceline customers, and sometimes it isn't. No way to tell in advance.

take a look at the companion site for priceline---www.biddingfortravel.com.....scroll down to the place you want to go under hotels and you will see how people have made out...

i am leaving wednesday on a european trip which i did 80% with pricline and am delighted with every award hotel...saving in excess of 60%...

i feel that bidding on 4 or 5 star hotels is the best bet and you end up with a quality product at a 3 star price...i think bidding on a 2 or 3 star is risky

But if your other choice is a hostel or zero star hotel that you book conventionally, two or three star hotels are fine. I haven't been disappointed by Priceline yet.

Jeanne, you got good advice to go to www.biddingfortravel.com. Set aside some time to study the bidding procedure explained in detail there. Priceline is great, but you really have to do your homework to avoid over bidding. Good luck and let us know your results.
