Rave: Had a great time shopping with DD, we had pizza then went to Johnny Rocket's for an Cookies and Creme milkshake. Yummy!

Rave: Madagascar looks like a cute movie to see tonight on our Fri. night movie date! Happy weekend, Happy travel planning! ***kim***

Rave: My wonderful day in SF with Marilyn on Tuesday. She is truly a very special woman.

Rave: My precious 14 year old grandson who will march in the Vacaville Fiesta parade tomorrow in the hot weather in his hot and sticky uniform and his broken clarinet. He will have to "pretend" he is playing the clarinet as there is not time to get it fixed, but he seems relaxed about it.

Rave: This my sound strange, but my friend from the time we were 14 years old that is not going to make it with her cancer situation and yet lives each day of her life as she always has with care and concern about everyone else, a terrific sense of humor and much dignity. She is truly one of my heros.

Rave: OneTravelingJew and OTJ2 (her DH) moved into their new house today!! I am so very happy for them. They worked hard and long to make this happen.

Rave: My beautiful daughter who is also my best friend. I don't know what I ever did to deserve her.

Rave: All the poster here on Fodors with their great sense of humor. Thank you for all the good laughs. You are wonderful and special.

Rants: None. Life can have its problems but as a Fodor friend said to me yesterday "life is good". And indeed it is.

A safe, happy and beautiful Memorial Day weekend to all.

May we always remember everyone that has made so many sacrifices so that we have the life we have, including all the family members and loved ones of those true heros.

Rant: Wake up blue again.

Rave: Pups happy to see me.

Rave: Horses neigh to greet me.

Rant: How unappreciative can I be?

kimamom - Loved Monster-in-law too.

Scarlett - Good luck with the selling.

bonniebroad - Congrats on the new addiction

Congrats to all with new houses, good luck with the moves and best to everyone spending the weekend with friends and family.

Rave: Heroes of all shape and sizes, including LoveItaly's everyday hero!

This will be my first time to post a Saturday morning rave, but here goes:

Rave: I have been awake since 4am because I'm so excited about my trip to the UK. I'm leaving later today.

Rave: Fodors has really changed the way I look at travel. I had no idea there were so many people in this world who share my passion for travel. Although this is only cyberspace, I look forward to our daily visits more than you all can imagine.

Rave: Thanks to all who wished me bon voyage, and a special thanks to those who helped me plan this trip.

Hugs to all good Fodorites of the world. >< Have a happy and safe weekend as we celebrate Memorial Day.

To LoveItaly: I am sorry about your dear friend. Her wonderful attitude and compassion for others is a thing to celebrate. This is one of my favorite things about Fodor's, when one person's life, your friend, touches all of us when normally we may have never met.

May she feel comfort from those that love her, while on the road ahead, and from those of us here that send her hope and peace.

Sending you a hug! You're special, that's why you have so many special people around you! >< T.

buckeyemom, Home selling, been there done that and it worked perfectly.

However,I have some valuable advice for you. Tell your agent that if he/she brings you a potential buyer who is not fully qualified you will have him put in prison for life. My cousin and his wife had truck loads of all their belongings plus friends and relatives ready to move out to their new home on the closing day of their home for sale.

At the last minute the agent found out that the buyer was not financially qualified to to buy their home. Months of work down the drain. My cousin's wife was so distressed she ran away three hundred miles for three days. They never put up their home for sale again until the next summer.

Call your agent on Tuesday morning and tell him he will have a miserable life if he even thinks about getting an unqualifed buyer to sign any preliminary contracts (earnest money)!!!

Tiff, thank you for your very beautiful thoughts. And I agree with you about the Fodor's community. It certainly has added joy to my life. Well except for the trolls, LOL. Another I have noticed. Sometimes we feel like we have so many problems. Then reading various posters post, especially FFR&R's reminds us that everyone has problems of one kind or another. And I am often amazed how the problems are handled with such courage and grace. It helps me when I start feeling stressed or overwhelmed.

And Jor, I wish I had you around anytime I had a real estate transaction. I live your advice. Very good!!!

Have a relaxing and safe Saturday everyone.

LoveItaly, I hope your grandson's parade went well. His situation reminds me of the time a valve on my son's trumpet broke -- as they say, the show must go on!

Starrsville, I want to see Monsters-in-Law just to see Jane Fonda in action, lol!

Seetheworld, she was great! Really cut loose and let herself look ridiculous at times. Very funny and well paced movie.

Saw Star Wars tonight. Enjoyed the closure to the story's circle, but just a bit too much light saber / galatic war action for me.

LoveItaly--So sorry to hear about your friend. I am sure though that her relationships with people like you are helping her get through this. It still is not easy, but being surrounded by such caring people does make all the difference.

seetheworld--LOL! Yes, the trampoline is on order. The kids are a tad bummed that it will take a couple weeks, and they have asked me to call other stores and see if anyone has them in stock. I just may...I think it will be a fun toy for ME as well, lol!

Rant: Sweetest, most loving 15 year old cat having surgery to remove eye on Tues. Hote choices where the best outcome still isn't a great outcome. Please think good thoughts for him (Toffee) on Tues. I prey he can continue to be his active, happy, mellow self for a nice chunk of time yet.
Rant - Cost means no summer trip.
Rave - at least I have the money to pay for it
Rave - get a little trip break with a one day bus trip to St Michael's, MD in 2 weeks.
Rant - Sold house in FL, moved to home town of PA to save some money for grad school and for my move out west - first Scottsdale, later Santa fe and Sedona. But it's gonna be a LOOONNGGG year...
