Freaky Friday Rants and Raves 12/16

Since I don't see one, I will start one! Is the power out in the west? Usually this is posted around 11:50pm east coast time!!!
Rave: It is Friday and we have no travel this weekend!! I need a rest!
Rant: School projects! Do these teachers think that we have nothing better to do than do projects the weekend before Christmas break? Luckily, we don't have anyhting else...LOL>..
Rave:It is almost a New Year and that means Hawaii will be here before you know it. Planning trips a year in advance gets old. I need to travel more!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Rant: The Christmas season is so centered on consumming stuff. We all are buying and wrapping presents that just end up in the dump polluting the world. Our whole economy is based on how much we spend on stuff that no one really needs and eventually goes to the dump. I would like to see us spend less and spend more time with each other.

Rhonda-

Visit the website
http://buynothingchristmas.org/

Say "Enough!" and join a movement dedicated to reviving the original meaning of Christmas giving.

Buy Nothing Christmas is a national initiative started by Canadian Mennonites but open to everyone with a thirst for change and a desire for action.

Buy Nothing Christmas is a stress-reliever, and more people need to hear about it. One of the downloadable posters show Christ asking, "Where did I say that you should buy so much stuff to celebrate my birthday?"

There's another FFRR thread initiated by Jorr that has more activity than this one.

I suggest any additional posts be made to THAT thread, which is at

I will check the thread above, but FYI, I've been checking since 4AM Central time on Friday for this thread! It was not coming up with a search (serveral eims!)

Thanks!
