Regarding the topic of politics on this forum. I participated in the post-election stuff as well. However, I eventually found it depressing and it did detract from my enjoyment of the site. Some of the threads really got pretty nasty and way out of line. I suppose it illustrates the "great divide" .

Scarlett~sorry you got hit in cyberspace. Can people really feel so protective of Bridget Jones? Thanks for the recipe thread. It's great to see fat is returning to recipes

Tandoori girl and Pam,

No mentions about politics except from you. Jor asked that we refrain from politics here, and we MUST repect that.

If you click on ahhnold's name, you'll see he/she never posts much about anything OTHER than politics. Why come to a travel board to discuss politics? Can you say "troll?"

Annoyed? Good. My life is too full of great things to be annoyed by some anonymous person on the internet.

However, if you agreed with my politics, you would not be annoyed.

Rave: My new 2005 Acura SUV! I can't believe we finally made the step. We found the perfect car for our family last weekend. It's gorgeous with a Navigation system, DVD, fully loaded with extras. This will be wonderful our frequent trips to the mountains and the Oregon Coast. We'll never be lost again!

Rave: Going to Portland,OR next week to Christmas shop and then over to the coast for a few days. My DD can watch DVD's while we drive!

Rave: Little DS was very busy around the house yesterday, mowing the lawn, cooking us all steak dinners, vacuuming our new carpet. I wonder what he wants? LOL

Rave: the beautiful trees turning all kinds of colors, red, gold, etc. Just beautiful to look at and fun to take take pictures of the kids goofing off in the leaves.

Rave: Going to OR Coast next week. Oh, I already mentoned that! LOL

Rave: Lots of extra company with the holiday weekend. Kids all have friends spend the night. Sometimes I think I run a youth hostel, LOL!!

Rave: Found a wonderful Viatnamese restaurant called Kim's here in town that we really like. The egg rolls are yummy and the rice noodles are delish!!

Rave: Polar Express!! We saw the movie last night. Very nicely done. Have a nice weekend, everyone. ***kim***

Fabulous. How about you get on w/that great life and quit messing around on a travel bb when you seem to have no interest in travel. I don't want to hear about your politics - if I did I could chat w/your kind on a political bb. Have a lovely day!!

I reserve my first Amendment right to post here and you can't restrict me from coming here. Fodors can stop me,you can't.

Stop posting your own politics if you want mine to stop.

Four more years to advance science, rights over our bodies, and equal protection under the Constitution. On that, we can all agree.

ahhnold, Why do you have to start this again. You got the FFR&R shut down last week. Is that your goal again?

My rant/rave was about christmas music and peppermint ice cream (Edy's Grand Light - yum yum!). I'll admit I'm easily drawn into political discussions, but I come here versus a political board as I'd prefer to avoid them right now. I wish Fodor's would do something about this fellow. It would be different if he actually contributed travel info, but that is not the case. Oh well.

Scarlett~regarding being accused of being "snappy and bitchy"..do you remember the point in your life when you decided Melanie was not so great(in fact a bit insipid) and Scarlet O'Hara was not the demon?

Ahhnold:geez. Where oh where are the girlie men when we need them?

RAVE: Fall in southern California. Clean, clear air, crisp nights, fire in the fireplace and a big CA Cab to sip while doing some well-deserved cuddling with my True Love.

RANT: Xmas Shopping season approaches, and I'll have to hit the malls at least once.

RAVE: Thanksgiving out in the desert, not 10 minutes from the Desert Hills Outlet Stores in Cabazon (and the dinosaurs!).

RANT: Who wants to go there Thanksgiving weekend with the crowds, tour buses, etc.?!

RAVE: Xmas with the family-- and everyone's going to be relatively healthy (sis' last scans are all clean!).

RANT: Xmas in the cold, and a probable business trip to Pittsburgh in January (no diss on the city, it'll just be cold!).

RAVE: Love, health, family, friends, good job, good food and wine-- life's still good!

RANT: Too many people with huge chips on their shoulders.

RANT: Too many sore winners AND sore losers out there. Respect others' opinions, they do have a right to them.

RAVE: People getting up and getting involved. You want change, you gotta fight for it!

RAVE: Making plans to see "The Incredibles" at El Capitan in Hollywood, then spending the night up on the Westside with my baby. Fun fun fun!!!

Everyone have a great, safe weekend!!!
