Fort Myers Beach Hotel
We(Me, my Wife and 2 yearold) Are looking for a hotel in Fort Myers Beach that is A. Most centrally located to walk to restaraunts and Shops etc. and B.On the Beach side of the island with rooms that open up to the beach.
Can anyone give me the best candidate for these requirements?

There is a Best Western Oceanfront in Ft. Myers Beach? I'd be leary of a place that named itself that since Ft. Myers Beach is over 100 miles from ANY OCEAN!!! The Gulf of Mexico is NOT an ocean. What a stupid name.

Perhaps poster meant the Best Western Beasch Resort. We stayed there about 5 years ago and it was perfect BUT - it has since ungone major renovations (including tearing down some buildings, etc.) so I would not go by opinion of anyone who has not stayed there since renovations.

The hotel is called the Best Western Beach Resort. We stay there every January. It is quite nice. The Chamber of Commerce says that it is operating at 80% now following the hurricane. The hotel says that it is open, but doing renovations on the first floor and lobby area. It is several blocks from the Times Square area, so I don't know if that is within walking distance for your 2 year old.

We stayed a few years ago, at the Best Western as well. All rooms were beach front. They at the time had a nice little playground for your little one. A short walk to the square. They also had a halfway decent continental breakfast. It was o.k We were only there 3 days.
