The Best Western Oceanfront is fantastic.

There is a Best Western Oceanfront in Ft. Myers Beach? I'd be leary of a place that named itself that since Ft. Myers Beach is over 100 miles from ANY OCEAN!!! The Gulf of Mexico is NOT an ocean. What a stupid name.

Perhaps poster meant the Best Western Beasch Resort. We stayed there about 5 years ago and it was perfect BUT - it has since ungone major renovations (including tearing down some buildings, etc.) so I would not go by opinion of anyone who has not stayed there since renovations.

The hotel is called the Best Western Beach Resort. We stay there every January. It is quite nice. The Chamber of Commerce says that it is operating at 80% now following the hurricane. The hotel says that it is open, but doing renovations on the first floor and lobby area. It is several blocks from the Times Square area, so I don't know if that is within walking distance for your 2 year old.

Oddly enough, I googled and did find a "Holiday Inn Oceanfront Resort" in Ft. Myers Beach. How silly! Do you we think we should let them know they're lost and confused?

With all the hurricanes this season in Florida, perhaps the location of Gulf and Ocean have been altered.

If you happen to go during the Spring Break period, staying toward the southern end of the island will help you avoid marauding bands of 18-23 year-olds.

We stayed a few years ago, at the Best Western as well. All rooms were beach front. They at the time had a nice little playground for your little one. A short walk to the square. They also had a halfway decent continental breakfast. It was o.k We were only there 3 days.

There is no Holiday Inn Oceanfront Resort either, there is a Holiday Inn Beach Resort.

Somebody should tell Google. If you Google "Holiday Inn Oceanfront Resort, you get quite a few listings for just that name in Ft. Myers Beach -- including full descriptions, addresses, etc.

It's really calle.com, travel.leisureideas.com and eztrip.com that have made the error, not google.
