For New Yorkers: Broadway Show seat location question.....
Hi all...perhaps a dumb question, but work with me here. There are 3 of us going to see "Grease" in September on Broadway. I am attempting to get tickets, but I don't know which would be better: Row AA or Row F. Both Orchestra Section. The money part doesn't bother me, there is just a few dollars separating them. But for those of you in the know about such things, would being in Row AA mean we'd be TOO close to the action, kind of like being too close at a movie theater?? Or would we WANT to be there? Please help, I welcome anyone's suggestions!!! Many thanks

Thanks for the reply Howard! Hmmmm, having just looked at the info, it does not say which seats they are...I will dig some more. But generally, you say Row F would be better? I just don't want to spend a ton of money and have to crane my head back because I'm too close to the action! Thank you for your help!!

You can find a seating chart here: http://www.playbill.com/reference/th...ting/2169.html.
For this theater numbers in the 100s are center. The lower numbers are the sides.

FYI scuttlebutt on the street is that it's highly doubtful that Grease will remain at Brooks Atkinson mainly because they can't pack in a maximum amount of people every night. I'd say you have a 50% chance of this theater actually changing to a larger one before September.
That being said, F is still better in either option.

By the way, at the Brooks Atkinson row AA is the third row. If in the center section and not on the sides (meaning they are three digit seat numbers, not two digit ones) then those really would be fine in my opinion. But row F (ninth row) might be a little better.
In any case I wouldn't but them until I knew they were in the center section. Although F, seats 1, 3, and 5 or seats 2, 4, and 6 would be fine. I wouldn't want side section row AA at all.
Where are you buying these by the way? I looked at Ebay and didn't see these. Have you called Ticketmaster or are you looking to buy through scalpers?

Thanks NeoPatrick for the info! Let's see, I am looking at SO many different sites for the tickets, mostly GOOGLING it and seeing what comes up. I believe I was looking at "TopTicketsUS" and some different rows came up, but SO pricey. I realize it's Broadway and all, so I have to be ok with it....I am getting frustrated because I can't find a site that tells me literally what seats they are, they mostly say "Row AA", "Row F", etc, not giving specific seats. If anyone could help me out there, I would appreciate it! Maybe I just need to get onto a new ticket site?? I don't know.....but I do thank you for the replies, everything is appreciated
Hope you're having a nice day!!!!

Have you called Ticketmaster? They are the ONLY authorized ticket agency for Grease -- repeat -- the ONLY one. Any other site you buy from is a "scalper" -- someone who buys the tickets from Ticketmaster and then resells them at a profit. Pick up a phone and call TICKETMASTER and discuss their best seats available before you do anything else. At the very worst the only really good seats they have will be wonderful priority seating at about $250 each -- but that beats paying that much to another agency for tickets that are NOT that good. Otherwise they may have good tickets for regular price at $111.50 or less.

BroadwayGirl, I just looked at your TopTickets site. I wouldn't touch it. I see most seats for Grease in September at around a $250 average -- these are tickets that sell from Ticketmaster at $111.50! There are tickets from Ticketmaster available for face value, or priority seating (like fifth or sixth row center) for the same price as those not so good TopTicket prices.
And no, I would not buy tickets that don't tell you the actual seats. I do see that most of their listings will give a row number and some will say "center section", so if they don't say center, then surely they are in the side sections. Meanwhile they have lots of them that say things like "available after July" -- what the heck is that supposed to mean, except that they clearly don't have the tickets themselves?
I just posted a thread about Ebay Tickets and how I was almost baited and switched from $250 seats to $110 ones for an EBAY "buy now" at over $150 a ticket. I ended up going to Ticketmaster and finding face value $110 seats -- center of front row mezzanine -- my favorite seats! Those were for Legally Blonde.
