We will be going to Baltimore for the Yankees/Orioles Game in August. My question is what types of food do they offer at the stadium. It is a night game so we wanted something more substancial then a hotdog and beer. I had seen a FoodTV special about the incredible food there. Is it offered to the masses or just certain sections?
Any info you can give is appreciated

You will love Camden Yards! Lots of restaurants around the perimeter of the stadium (for the masses), and stands that serve BBQ sandwiches, crab cakes, and other substantial food, and good local mircobrew beer not just Miller light. The food really is great there. Have fun!

Stef is right--there's tons of different things to eat at the Yards, all available to the masses. I'd get there early, as most people do, to browse and then get in line. Boog Powell's BBQ is a perennial favorite--they serve substantial meals complete with side dishes--but there are also big fat brats and Italian sausages with grilled peppers and onions, the crabcakes...hog heaven! Enjoy!

Oh yeah, don't forget the curly fries and the soft pretzels baked fresh! Forget the game, troll for food the whole time!!!!!

We asked the same question last summer before our trip - were advised by many here not to eat before game. Agree with above posters - lots of food, especially in the street concourse area right when you enter the park - lots of vendors there, but also decent and interesting food throughout park. What a treat after the truly atrocious food we are used to at Fenway.

that up. I didnt want to have to rush to eat dinner before the game.
Thanks so much for the advice. I can't wait to see the game. If I remember correctly the home team is still pretty friendly to the visitors...Can I wear my Yankee hat or will I be pelted with peanuts?????

if the O's keep playing the way they've been playing, there'll be no one in the stadium to pelt you....wear your hat! I wore my O's hat to Yankee stadium and was fine (granted it was Cal Ripken's last scheduled game....)

Totally agree w/ droots on the friendly people.
We went back to Camden "Yahds" the first year it was open when just about everything there was sold out.

Walked up the day of the game and the gal in the ticket booth was very helpful in getting us 2 tics for that night and the next night's games.
Excellent seats both nights.
(It also happened the prior year at Memorial's ticket booth-quite helpful-not like Candlestick!)

It's like Wrigley Field where half the fun is showing up a few hours early to take in "the whole crabcake" (guess it wouldn't be "enchilada" in Baltimore).

Boog's BBQ pretty was good.

The next night I ordered a burger and sausage, both w/ all those grilled peppers, inside the park.
The guy gave them to me. When Mrs Kal ordered, it suprised him 'cuz he thought one of those were for her. Silly man!

And crabcakes there sure beat the ones at Memorial Stadium by a longshot!

About the 8th inning we thought fog was rolling in from the IH???
We finally figured it out that they were putting Boog's BBQ out for the night. Yep. Good micro brew too. ;-)

Thanks for all the helpful info. I have been to Baltimore many times and was always treated like family. The bar staff at Bohagers was a personal favorite.
We got our tickets in the mail last night and I wish we didnt have to wait until August. Hopefully it will be a great game, and if not I have no problem going 3 hours for a crab cake and some good BBQ.
