Fishing in Alaska

I have a group of 8 considering a 2004 week long Alaska fishing trip. We usually fish in northern Manitoba at a remote fly in camp with a facility and cook. Any recommendations? Our number one priority would be Kings, but variety would be good.

I had good feedback on the following fishing outfit: Talon Air
talonair.com (about $265-$435/full day per person, though)

3 years ago we stayed in Soldotna on the Kenai River. The place was called Krog's Kamp. Very nice: cabins/apartments, lodge with meals. They also arranged halibut trips and fly out trips with Talon. We also did fly tour of the Harding Ice field with Talon.

Krog's Kamp: 907-262-2671, I'm sure they have a website. Ask for Mel.

Best part: I caught a 58# King and my husband a 42# King!!!! What a blast!!

There is a fishing outfit out of Sitka. It's supposed to be first rate.
Sorry, I don't have the name.

Try Orca Adventure Lodge based out of Cordova. They have a lodge in Cordova with fly in fishing to different areas for fishing. Also, try Wilderness Outfitting located in Cordova. Both are highly recommended! Have fun

We stayed at Dersham's Outlook Lodge in Anchor Point, near Homer, two years ago and are going again in May. Ed Dersham is in charge of the fishing, Karan Dersham takes care of the B&B - she's a gourmet cook.
