Fell's Point Crab Cakes
I will be visiting Baltimore later this month and have heard that Fell's Point is a great place for crabcakes. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good restaurant? It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just have great crab cakes.
Thanks everyone.

A traditional Maryland crab cake is fried in butter - over the years some have preferred their crab cakes broiled but something is a bit lost when this happens. A true Maryland crab cake is made with Lump backfin crab (about 1 lb), 1/4 cup cracker crumb, 1 egg, 1 tsp worchestershire sauce, 2 Tblsp mayo, 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning and lightly tossed so that the lumps do not break up. You then lightly form into cakes (like burgers) and pan fry for about 5 minutes each side. It is about the best you'll ever taste!!
O'Bryckie's in baltimore makes a good one, Bo brooks (also Baltimore) used to make good ones, but some of the best are on eastern shore's Kent Island (just across the Bay Bridge) at the Narrows restaurant. They're expensive but boy are they good!!!

Lots of good crab cakes in Fells Point. I've always been partial to the ones at John Steven Ltd. (mostly because they have lots of tasty microbrews and english ales on tap), but I can wholeheartedly second the nomination of Obrycki's. Crabs just don't get more Baltimore than Obrycki's -- a classic!
I wrote a review of this place a couple years back. It's online at:
